Extra Keys (version 2) is a replacement program for the older Extra Characters (version 1) and requires Windows 2000 or later. It is a fully portable, self-contained program (written with PureBasic from Fantaisie Software). The install file is for convenience only, the program can be copied and run from anywhere, including removable media. Version 2 programs are available as both 32-bit and 64-bit executables.

Current version is 2.2.1

Version 2.2.0 (Dec 2013) was a major revision and introduces the selectable key sets, with a total of around 600 different characters. This is the current and recommended version.

The original Extra Characters (version 1) is a much older, non-Unicode program and will run on older versions of Windows from 95 onwards. It is not recommended for newer systems. Written in MS VB6 and requires its normal run-time libraries.

Extra Keys Pro (version 2.2.2) is the commercial edition and requires an activation code. It is equivalent to the latest free edition, plus additional output formats capability.
See the Extra Keys Pro page for further details.
